A’Ibom health ministry cautions patent medicine dealers
The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health has urged the state chapter of the National Association of Patent Medicine Dealers (NAPPMED) to call itself to order or risk being prosecuted. For alleged unwholesome practices.
Some of the unwholesome and unethical practices orchestrated by the leadership of the association in the state and local government chapters include collection of various forms of exorbitant fees from prospective Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors for registration and promise of provision of operation licences to Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors (PPMV).
A release by the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health, signed by the state Commissioner for Health, Emem Abasi Bassey, and made available to our correspondent in Uyo, condemned such activities and warned leadership of the association to identify and stick to its boundaries.
